Description
Many Glacier Hotel was built in 1915 on the shore of Swiftcurrent Lake in Glacier National Park. It was built in one year by the Great Northern Railway and was one of a number of such hotels built throughout the park to promote tourism.
The hotel has a great deal of charm. A large fireplace in the lobby serves as a focal point and an area for gathering and relaxing. Rooms do not have televisions and there is no cell service in the area. Instead, the Many Glacier area is often considered the heart of the park, with many activities originating there. You can grab a Red Bus tour, go horseback riding, take a boat tour or rent a kayak here.
Many rooms have balconies with a view of Swiftcurrent Lake. Though they are shared with the room next door, these serve as an ideal place to relax once you retire from the lobby.
This image was taken from the balcony of my room at the end of the hotel. It was incredibly relaxing and peaceful.

Ohh, this is beautiful, Gales. Been there and stayed at that hotel myself, but none of my images came out like this! I was using a manual film camera....would love to get a do-over. This is wonderful!
