The Mittens are two buttes located in Monument Valley. Their proper names are East Mitten Butte and West Mitten Butte. They are located just over half a mile from the Arizona-Utah State line. These layers have a cap composed of the Shinarump Conglomerate.
These two features, along with Merrick Butte form a triangle near the park headquarters.
