Description
Theodore Roosevelt National Park is located in western North Dakota along I94 just outside Medora, North Dakota. It encompasses 110 square miles and is split into 3 different areas including the North Dakota Badlands. In 1947 President Truman signed Theodore Roosevelt National Memorial Park into being.
After his wife and mother died on the same day in 1884, Theodore Roosevelt retreated to the ranch he had invested in the year before to recover from the loss. While there, he started the Elkhorn Ranch located 35 miles to the north of Medora.
There are horse and foot trails throughout the park along with three campgrounds. There is an abundance of wildlife that includes bison, prairie dogs, feral horses, deer and many others. The terrain varies from grassland to the sculptured badlands.
Here, some of the feral horses graze under the summer sun.

A nicely composed horse landscape image Christopher. Wide open spaces... there is nothing quite like it. fv

This picture turned out so much better than I expected. I'm glad, considering I only shot this one image of them.
